We minimize data collection to ensure the best experience without compromising privacy. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information (PII) such as real names, physical addresses, phone numbers, or email addresses from children.

A. Information Collected Automatically

When you use iWorldGlobe, certain non-personal information is automatically collected to help the app function:

  • Device Information: Device type, model, operating system (iOS/Android), and language preferences.
  • Usage Data: Which countries you visit in the app, quizzes taken, scores, and badges earned.
  • General Location: Country or region level data (using IP address) to provide relevant content. We do not collect precise GPS location.
  • Anonymous User ID: A random identifier generated by our backend (Supabase) to save your progress (XP, levels, stamps).

B. Information from Third Parties

We use verifiable third-party services for app functionality:

  • Google AdMob: For displaying ads (in the free version). See the "Advertising" section for details on child safety.
  • Apple App Store & Google Play: For processing in-app purchases. We do not receive your financial details.

3. How We Use Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • To Provide the Service: Saving your learning progress, quiz scores, and digital passport stamps.
  • To Improve the App: Understanding which features are popular and fixing bugs or crashes.
  • To Serve Contextual Ads: Showing family-friendly advertisements to support the free version of the app.
  • To Ensure Security: Detecting and preventing fraudulent use or technical issues.

4. Advertising & Children

AdMob Disclosure:

This app uses Google AdMob for advertising. AdMob may collect certain information for ad delivery purposes. For users under 13, we have enabled child-directed treatment settings (Tag for Child-Directed Treatment - TFCD), which means:

  • No personalized or behavioral advertising.
  • No remarketing.
  • Only age-appropriate, contextual ad content is shown.

We strive to ensure that all advertisements are appropriate for a general audience. If you wish to remove ads completely, you can upgrade to the iWorldGlobe Pro plan.

5. In-App Purchases

iWorldGlobe offers optional in-app purchases, such as subscriptions (Monthly/Yearly) or one-time purchases (Lifetime) to unlock "Pro" features.

  • Payment Processing: All transactions are handled securely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit card or banking information.
  • Parental Controls: We recommend parents use device settings to restrict in-app purchases or enable "Ask to Buy" features to prevent unauthorized purchases.

6. Data Storage & Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

  • Encryption: Data is encrypted in transit (using TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256 standard).
  • Secure Backend: We use Supabase, a secure cloud provider, to store anonymous user progress.
  • Local Storage: Some data is stored locally on your device (Hive Database) for offline performance.

While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect information, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

7. Parental Rights (COPPA)

Under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), parents have control over their children's personal information. Since we do not collect personal contact information (like email or phone numbers) from children, we typically do not require parental consent for basic use. However, parents have the right to:

  • Review any non-personal information we may have associated with their child's device/ID.
  • Request deletion of their child's anonymous data.
  • Refuse to permit further collection or use of the child's information.
